Rolls Royce Silver Cloud - a "silver cloud" in the automotive sky.The company, founded in 1906 as Rolls-Royce Limited, was taken over by the British car manufacturer Bentley in 1931 after only 25 years of independence. From then on the production was merged and both car brands continued to be sold under different names. After the war ended, the first Rolls-Royce was the Silver Cloud series, a further development of the predecessor Silver Dawn, which was largely in the hands of JP Blatchley. The rigid frame consisted of a simple welded rectangular tube construction and, as is usual with Rolls Royce, was separated from the body. This separation made it possible for the luxury manufacturer to implement various special bodies. The noble car was 5410 mm long and 1899 mm wide and weighed a proud 1801-1914 kg. With the new 6.2 l - V8 Otto engine with 6,321 cm3, the Series II car reached 183 km / h and could even be ordered with electric window lifters on request. The Bentley from the Series II was identical to the Silver Cloud except for the radiator. Amazingly, Bentley experienced a greater upswing than the identical Rolls Royce, so that at the end of the 80s more vehicles with Bentley emblems were delivered instead of Rolls Royce. Ultimately, however, the shape and elegant appearance of the luxury car are what inspires classic car fans. The miniature of the Bentley in 1:87 shows the model in an absolute luxury version that will make collectors hearts beat faster.
