In 1962, the decision was made by the Council of Ministers of the former GDR to develop a new tractor that was to contribute to improving agriculture. With the target of 100 HP and a tractive force of 14,000 kN, the tractor should reach “world high”.The first functional model of the ZT 300 was then available for extensive testing in 1964.In 1967, the ZT 300 was tested by the Central Testing Center for Agricultural Engineering Potsdam-Bornim by Erwin Stieglitz and was approved in July 1967 with a positive test result. The chief designer Dipl. Ing. Reinhard Blumenthal and the team from the Schnebeck tractor factory developed the ZT 300, a modern and powerful tractor that went into series production in the same year.At the beginning of the 80s there were a total of 35,000 ZTswhich was only followed in 1978 by the improved ZT 320/323 and went into series production in 1984.When revising the ZT 300, the designers relied on three principles: performance, styling and comfort. Thanks to its future-oriented technical concept, the ZT 320/323 was characterized by higher performance with lower fuel consumption. This is ensured by the improved 4-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine with direct injection and a torque increase of 12%, which ensures rapid acceleration. The torque characteristics are matched to each other with engine capacity and engine speed so that fuel consumption remains low in relation to the required power. Thanks to its future-oriented technical concept, the ZT 320/323 was characterized by higher performance with lower fuel consumption. This is ensured by the improved 4-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine with direct injection and a torque increase of 12%, which ensures rapid acceleration. The torque characteristics are matched to each other with engine capacity and engine speed so that fuel consumption remains low in relation to the required power.Technical dataengine: 4 cylinder diesel engine, type 4VD 14.5 SRW with 100 HPnominal power at 1900 / min nominal speeddisplacement: 6560 cm³top speed: 30.7 km / hdrive: rear wheel / all-wheelweight: 5,690 kglength: 4,940 mmwidth: 2,240 mmHeight: 2,855 mmProduction period: 1984-1991Manufacturer: Tractor plant Schnebeck in VEB Kombinat Progressagricultural machineryIn the area of styling, the designers have shaped a new tractor face, the appearance is edgier and more modern. The driver is now sitting in a soundproofed comfort cabin that, according to an advertising statement, "creates working conditions for the driver that maintain their performance".The noise level has been significantly reduced and now complies with international guidelines. The overturn-protected cabin is also generously glazed, ensuring good all-round visibility and optimal control of all work. Finally, the modernized tractor with cult status is also available as a highly detailed model in 1:87 scale and from then on drives through lovingly designed miniature landscapes. The model differences of the prototypes can also be found on the model, the miniatures also have webs of different widths in the lower area of the entrance door of the cab, which are typical for the respective year of construction. In comparison, the special coloring is only an insignificant minor matter.Even the grille and mudguard of the first demonstration variant were adopted 1: 1. The perfect shape with crystal-clear contours makes the tractor a real specialty that should not be missing in any collection or model system. We recommend the filigree injection plants from the Pure Nature series from the Busch model making range so that the tractor can drive through its realistic, lifelike landscape with its coarse tires. Here maize plants, pumpkin plants, wheat fields and super natural sunflowers are waiting for the tireless harvest helper to drive to the place of work in the drivers cab. She sits like a glove on her seat!
