The family-run group Sixt in Pullach is not only very active in the car rental sector, but also in the areas of car rental, car sharing and leasing. The company founded by Martin Sixt in 1912 was one of the first car rental companies in Bavaria. The fleet, which initially consisted of seven vehicles, was subordinated to the German Army in the First World War, including the driver. In 1927 the company founder transferred the company to his nephew Hans Sixt. After the end of the Second World War, Sixt opened a taxi company in Munich in 1948 - the first radio taxis in Europe. The car rental company "Auto Sixt" was launched three years later.
