Superquick SQA13 Ash Tower

Hand in hand with a steam locomotives large appetite for coal was the large amount of waste ash they produced. Often found in close proximity to a railway yards coaling tower would have been the railway yards ash tower. The steam locomotives crew would have raked the ash waste into ash pits before it was transferred to an ash tower ready for it to be transferred to trucks for disposal.
