Rolls Royce Silver Cloud - a "silver cloud" in the automotive sky. Founded in 1906 as Rolls-Royce Limited company was taken over after only 25 years of independence in 1931 financially battered by the British car manufacturer Bentley. From then on, the production was merged and both car brands were still sold with different names. After the war, the first Rolls-Royce appeared the Silver Cloud series, an evolution of its predecessor Silver Dawn, which was largely in the hands of JP Blatchley. The rigid frame consisted of a simple welded rectangular tube construction and was, as usual with Rolls Royce, separated from the body. This separation allowed the luxury brand to realize various special constructions. The noble car was 5410 mm long and 1899 mm wide and brought proud 1801-1914 kg on the scales. With the new 6.2 l - V8 petrol engine with 6,321 cm3, the Series II car reached 183 km / h and could even be ordered with electric window regulators on request. The Bentley from the Series II was identical except for the cooler with the Silver Cloud. Amazingly, however, Bentley experienced a bigger upswing than the identical Rolls Royce, so that more vehicles were delivered in the late 80s with Bentley instead of Rolls-Royce emblems. Ultimately, however, the shape and the elegant appearance of the luxury car are what thrills oldtimer fans.
